LG.Philips LCD Announces Convertible Bond Offering

    SEOUL, Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 2005--LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd. (NYSE:LPL, KRX:034220) today announced that it intends to sell, subject to market and other conditions, approximately US$ 400 million aggregate principal amount of convertible bonds due 2010 through an offering outside the United States pursuant to Regulation S under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended. In addition, LG.Philips LCD intends to grant the initial purchasers an option to purchase up to an additional US$ 75 million aggregate principal amount of bonds. The bonds will be convertible into the common stock of LG.Philips LCD. The yield to maturity, offering price and terms of conversion are to be determined by negotiations between the company and the initial purchasers of the bonds.
    LG.Phillips LCD plans to use the net proceeds from this offering to fund its capital expenditures in Korea.
