LexisNexis Enters Android Market with Introduction of CourtLink Mobile Application for Samsung Galaxy Devices
LexisNexis, (www.lexisnexis.com) a leading global provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, today announced that the company is entering the Android™ OS market for the first time with the introduction of the mobile version of its popular LexisNexis® CourtLink® service for Samsung GALAXY smartphones and Samsung GALAXY Tab. The new CourtLink® application for Android offers legal professionals access to relevant court docket notifications where and when they need it. The application will initially be available exclusively on Samsung devices, rolling out to all Android devices after a certain period of time.
The release of the CourtLink application for Android marks the latest addition to the growing portfolio of mobile applications from LexisNexis® that includes: Get Cases and Shepardize®, Lexis® Advance for Solos, LexisNexis® Legal News, as well as the recently launched mobile services for Time Matters®, LexisNexis® Lead Alert and PCLaw®. The launch of these and other applications are part of a broad LexisNexis mobile strategy that focuses on offering attorneys across different sectors of the legal market solutions that match the way they work in today’s mobile business environment.
"Our research told us that tablets and smartphones were overtaking sales of desktops among attorneys, so clearly our customers need applications designed for those devices,” said Michele Vivona, Senior Vice President of Global Web Strategy for LexisNexis. "We are continuously collaborating with our customers in the legal market to provide them with what they want and need – mobile applications that give them the ability to conveniently take on time-sensitive and discrete tasks while out of the office.”
LexisNexis CourtLink helps attorneys drive new business opportunities and create successful litigation strategies. With its collection of court dockets and documents, it is a powerful resource for analyzing and assessing litigation landscapes and providing notification of new case activity. Mobile access to the CourtLink service allows attorneys to review newly filed cases to determine their relevance to clients. In addition, attorneys are able to gain instant insight into their tracked active litigation.
"LexisNexis customers said they needed a dependable way to stay on top of new opportunities, manage caseloads and offer better client service,” said Vivona. "CourtLink® Mobile provides attorneys critical court case information as well as alerts and tracking tools where and when they need them most, resulting in a real competitive business advantage.”
Key benefits of the CourtLink mobile app include:
