Kirby Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Kirby Corp. (KEX) Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $63.1 million or $1.11 per share, up from $47.6 million or $0.85 per share in the same period last year.

Revenues increased to $563.9 million from $511.8 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $566.44 million.

Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the range of $1.05 to $1.15 per share. Analysts expected third-quarter earnings of $1.12 per share.

For the fiscal 2013, the company has raised its earnings guidance to a range of $4.15 to $4.35 per share, up from its previous guidance range of $4.10 to $4.30 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $4.25 per share.
