King Digital Q4 Profit Misses Estimates - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - King Digital Entertainment plc (KING) reported fourth-quarter net income of $90.7 million or $0.28 per share, compared to $140.6 million or $0.44 per share, last year. Adjusted EPS was $0.38, for the quarter. On average, ten analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.39 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue was $461 million for fourth quarter 2015, representing a year over year decrease of 16%. Analysts expected revenue of $466.95 million for the quarter.
Gross bookings were $509 million for fourth quarter 2015, representing a year over year decrease of 13%. Excluding the impact of changes in foreign exchange rates, gross bookings would have decreased by approximately 8% year over year.
The company said the year over year decreases in both gross bookings and revenue were primarily due to lower gross bookings from more mature games, in particular Candy Crush Saga, partially offset by increased gross bookings from newer games, in particular Candy Crush Soda Saga.
