Kia Motors America Oct. Sales Rises
(RTTNews) - Kia Motors America, a part of South Korean automaker Kia Motors Corp. (KIMTF.PK), Monday said October sales rose to 44,694 units from 39,754 units last year.
The company attributed the strong October sales to high demand for the U.S.-built Optima midsize sedan and the iconic Soul. Sales for Soul rose to 10,685 units from 8,240 units last year, while Optima sales gained to 11,840 units from 11,492 units last year.
"Declining gas prices are bringing a steady supply of customers into the market, and our new products have played a role in the steady growth Kia has experienced this year," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Kia Motors America.
