Kemira announces Slush innovation challenge winners

The winners of the Kemira innovation challenge have been selected. Kemira launched the contest in the Slush Helsinki technology and start-up event on November 12, 2015 inviting start-ups, hackers, IT companies and other innovative minds to suggest novel ways of utilizing intelligence in Advanced Water Treatment. Kemira is the leading chemicals supplier for raw, wastewater and sludge treatment in Europe and North America.

Among some 20 qualified ideas, a jury of Kemira's water treatment experts selected Oliotalo, a company specialized in industrial internet, distributed intelligence and remote monitoring. Oliotalo's "Enabling distributed intelligence" will be awarded with a "Water journey with Kemira", which is hoped to open new doors for collaboration. The prize includes e.g. a visit to Kemira's global R&D center of choice in Atlanta (USA), Shanghai (China), or Espoo (Finland), meetings with business, R&D people and local customers. Two ideas also awarded were "Solution for intelligent water tracking" by Yuequiang Xu and "Pure water and pulsed electricity" by Henri Hatakka.

"The winning idea might contribute to our existing control and monitoring offering that connects smarter process management to a global network of application specialists, chemistry know-how and the right products and technologies.
