Keller Rohrback L.L.P. Announces Investigation of Bank of America Corp. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Regarding Mortgages Protected by the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act

Attorney Advertising. Keller Rohrback L.L.P. (www.krclassaction.com) is currently investigating Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM), including their subsidiaries, regarding alleged abuses related to violations of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other claims. Specifically, the SCRA provides certain financial protections for military servicemembers who are on active duty or are deployed so that they can serve their country without being unduly distracted by their mortgage loan obligations.

Keller Rohrback’s investigation focuses on alleged mortgage loan servicing abuses that violate the SCRA by, among other things: overcharging for mortgages; setting interest rates above 6%; charging late fees; repeatedly requesting documentation of active duty status; repeatedly requesting that servicemembers re-apply for SCRA benefits; engaging in aggressive collection tactics; threatening to report an adverse credit status; and wrongfully foreclosing on active duty servicemembers’ homes. Keller Rohrback is also investigating mortgage loans issued to members of the military that are serviced by the following:

Aurora Loan Services           IndyMac Mortgage Services
Downey Savings & Loan Litton Loan Servicing LP
EMC Mortgage Corp. Nationstar Mortgage LLC
Financial Freedom PennyMac
GMAC Mortgage, Inc. Saxon Mortgage Services Inc.
HSBC SunTrust Mortgage, Inc.

If you were an active duty or deployed servicemember and you were subjected to violations of the SCRA or RESPA by Bank of America, BAC Home Loans Servicing, JPMorgan Chase, Chase Home Finance, or another servicer, please contact paralegal Jay Simmons or attorneys Sarah Kimberly, Gretchen Obrist, or Lynn Sarko at 800.776.6044 or via email at info@kellerrohrback.com.
