KBR Subsidiary Receives Award for 100 Years of Dedication to the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute
KBR (NYSE: KBR) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Roberts & Schaefer, was recognized by the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute (RMCMI) for 100 years of distinguished service to the Institute and the Rocky Mountain coal mining industry.
Roberts & Schaefer was a founding member of RMCMI and has provided continuous support to many of its programs which are dedicated to the promotion of western coal through education.
Roberts & Schaefer serves as a Charter Patron Sponsor of RMCMI’s Scholarship Program, which awards 16 scholarships to students entering the coal industry each year. The company is also an active participant on several of the Institute’s committees, including the Safety Committee and Scholarship Committee.

"Our support of the Institute’s scholarship and educational outreach programs provides us with a recruiting avenue for some of the best and brightest new engineers and science graduates in the mining industry. RMCMI President, Denise Dragoo, noted that the last Distinguished Service award was presented in 1987, making this year’s presentation an exceptional occasion for the Institute.
Read explained that the company’s history of business with members of RMCMI has led to the establishment of extraordinary relationships with past, present and future clients.
