Junior Achievement Of Western Pennsylvania Posts Financial Terms Dictionary For Use By Students Free Of Charge
PITTSBURGH, April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania has announced that it has posted a financial terms dictionary for use free of charge. As part of its celebration of Financial Literacy Month, the dictionary contains clear, comprehensive definitions of more than 150 important financial terms that students need to understand when learning about the economy, social studies, history and business.
Written in a layman's style with simple definitions, the dictionary includes traditional terms, like "liquid assets," along with more contemporary terms, like "Brexit." In addition, it is compiled so that teachers could use it as part of their curriculum during April's Financial Literacy Month, as well as throughout the school year.
The dictionary can be found at https://www.juniorachievement.org/web/ja-westernpa/financial-literacy-terms.
Junior Achievement encourages feedback and suggested terms to add to this list, so that it becomes a constantly updated resource. Any reader who has a question on a definition or would like to add a word to the list is encouraged to send their comment or request to eburry@jawesternpa.org . The dictionary will be updated once each month for the next twelve months to address these comments and suggestions.
"Junior Achievement is very pleased to publish this Financial Terms Dictionary," said Dennis Gilfoyle, president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania. "Teaching financial literacy to school students is one of the key focus areas of our organization. We see this as part of the knowledge needed to help prepare students for the future so they can reach their full potential. I hope that people have fun with this Dictionary and through feedback from users throughout the upcoming year it continues to grow significantly in its size and use."
