Jefferies Group Q3 Profit Surges - QUICK FACTS

(RTTNews) - Leucadia National Corp. (LUK) owned Jefferies Group LLC Tuesday reported a surge in its third-quarter earnings, driven by a boost in the group's investment banking revenues.

Net earnings attributable to stockholders soared to $83.6 million from $11.7 million a year ago.

Earnings before income taxes jumped to $135.6 million from $23.4 million in the prior-year quarter.

The company reported quarterly revenues of $843.3 million, much greater than $531.7 million last year. Investment banking net revenues advanced to $468 million from $309.3 million in the year-ago period.
