Jefferies Expands Municipal Bond Trading
In a further expansion of the firm’s Municipal Securities Group, Jefferies announced today the addition of James McGinley as a Managing Director and Head of Municipal Securities Markets. He will work closely with Alan Greco, Head of Municipal Trading, and Drew Levinson, Head of Municipal Sales.

Jefferies’ Municipal Securities Group is comprised of more than 90 professionals focused on the banking, sales and trading of municipal securities. With professionals across the nation Jefferies offers significant access and coverage in all areas of municipal finance. This announcement also further demonstrates Jefferies’ growing strength in fixed income, where the firm now has more than 450 professionals globally who are focused on the sales and trading of municipal bonds, investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging markets debt.
Mr. McGinley brings to Jefferies 20 years of municipal securities industry experience, and joins the firm from Barclays, where he was a Managing Director and ran municipal high grade, taxable and proprietary trading, as well as competitive bidding. Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director in Municipal Asset Management at Bear Stearns, a Managing Director in Portfolio Management at Blackrock and a First Vice President in Municipal Research and Risk Management at Prudential Securities. Mr. McGinley received an MBA from Rutgers University and a BS from Lehigh University.
