Jefferies Adds to Equity Capital Markets Group

In a further expansion of its investment banking business, Jefferies today announced the addition of Kamlesh Bhatia, who joins as a Managing Director responsible for private placement origination within the firm’s Equity Capital Markets Group.

"Kamlesh Bhatia’s expertise in both private financing for corporates and in project financing has broad applicability to our clients in technology, cleantech and healthcare, as well as across a wide range of industrial and energy clients,” commented Benjamin D. Lorello, Global Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets at Jefferies.

"Kamlesh’s significant experience in structuring and executing private equity and equity-linked transactions across a wide range of sectors and projects will further broaden the range of equity products we provide to our clients,” said Mark Connelly, Global Head of Equity Capital Markets at Jefferies

Mr. Bhatia brings to Jefferies more than ten years of investment banking experience, including five years in the Equity Capital Market groups at Piper Jaffray and Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he originated, structured and executed over $3 billion of privately negotiated equity and equity-linked transactions for public and private clients. Prior to this, Mr. Bhatia spent four years in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School, his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri, and his BS from the University of Bombay.
