JA Solar Holdings Q3 Loss Narrows - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (JASO), Tuesday reported a narrower loss for the third-quarter, mirroring a decline in total operating expenses.

Net loss attributable to ordinary shareholders was RMB 272.9 million, compared with RMB 371.4 million last year. In the U.S. currency terms, net loss stood at $44.6 million or $0.22 per ADS for the quarter. Non-GAAP loss per ADS was RMB 2.24 or $0.37 for the three-month period. Total operating expenses were RMB 230.3 million, compared with RMB 534.6 million last year.

Revenues for the tri-monthly period was RMB 1.8 billion or $287.3 million, an increase of 7.2 percent from prior year's RMB 1.6 billion or $268 million. Shipments were 500.2 MW, consisting of 305 MW of modules and module tolling, and 195.2 MW of cells and cell tolling.

On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss per share of $0.36, and revenues of $260.63 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

For the fourth quarter, the company expects total cell and module shipments to be between 500 MW and 550 MW. For the full year 2013, the company revised upwards its previous shipment guidance of between 1.7 GW and 1.9 GW to between 1.9 GW and 1.95 GW.
