JA Solar Holdings Posts Profit In Q2 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - JA Solar Holdings Co. Ltd. (JASO) Wednesday reported second-quarter net income attributable to the company of RMB 34.81 million or RMB 0.12 per share compared with a loss of RMB138.8 million or RMB 0.72 per share last year. On an adjusted basis, earnings totaled RMB 0.17 per share.

Earnings per ADS were RMB 0.59 or $0.10 versus a loss per ADS of RMB 3.58 or $0.58 a year ago. Adjusted earnings per ADS were RMB 0.87 or $0.14.

Quarterly revenues rose to RMB 2.4 billion from RMB 1.6 billion last year, helped by the ongoing shift in sales to modules, which were 65.4 percent of shipments, as well as penetration of the company's key geographies, most notably China and Japan.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.21, and revenues of $393.98 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
