ITT Educational Services Q2 Results Miss View

(RTTNews) - ITT Educational Services, Inc.'s (ESI) net income for the second quarter of 2013 fell to $20.9 million, or $0.89 a share, from $46 million, or $1.96 a share, a year ago. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.90 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Quarterly revenue was $259.9 million, down 21.2% from the prior-year quarter's $329.8 million. Analysts estimated revenues of $273.00 million for the quarter.

New student enrollment in the second quarter of 2013 rose 7.5% to 16,883, from 15,698 in the same period in 2012.
