Israel Chemicals, AkzoNobel Agrees To Produce High Purity Vaccum Salt

(RTTNews) - Specialty products maker Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL) and paints and coatings company AkzoNobel said AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals and ICL's Spanish subsidiary ICL Iberia has agreed to produce and market 1.5 million tons of high purity vacuum salt and 50,000 tons of white potash per annum.

ICL will finance and construct two production plants at its mining facility located in Suria in Catalonia, Spain, each plant will enable the production of 750 thousand tonnes of vacuum salt. The first plant is scheduled for completion in 2015 and the second in 2017.

Both the companies expects strong synergies from the agreement.
