IRONMAN Legend Craig "Crowie" Alexander Leads Triathlon Camp in Medellin, Colombia

BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Five-time IRONMAN World Champion Craig Alexander will lead the first-ever triathlon training camp and clinic in Medellin, Colombia in April 2017.  Capped at thirty participants, the exclusive camp will offer personalized, expert instruction in the newest destination for athletes seeking world-class cycling and active travel.

"I'm just now discovering why the Medellin region is an ideal location for training, especially for cycling, thanks to its weather, terrain, and people. This will be my first time training in the country, and I'm looking forward to sharing that experience with other athletes," said Alexander.

The camp is the first project from a new partnership between leaders within the active lifestyle industry: the Human Interest Group (HIG), a sports management and influencer marketing company, and Equipo, an active and experiential travel company.

Home to some of the world's best cycling, Colombia anticipates millions of new visitors annually following the landmark peace agreement between the government and Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Cartagena was recently held there and received accolades for its spectacular venue.

"There has never been a better time to come explore this South American Gem of a nation. Triathletes will see first-hand why pro cyclists, including champions on the world circuit, come back year after year for training in the warm weather and fantastic terrain," commented Anisha Ghoghari, Founder and CEO of Equipo.

April 1-4, 2017, the reasonably-priced camp will offer individual and group training with Alexander and his Sansego coaching team for triathletes at any skill level. Daily clinics devoted to swimming, cycling, and running will prepare participants for long-distance triathlons and other endurance sports.

Participants will stay at the Club Campestre Llanogrande, a country club situated in the pristine tropical mountain region surrounding Medellin, known as "The City of Eternal Spring."

Registration for the Craig Alexander triathlon training camp and clinic is open and space is limited. Visit http://equipocycling.com/trainingcamps/ for information.
