Intersil Corp. Bottom Line Retreats 18% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Intersil Corp. (ISIL) announced a profit for third quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit fell to $20.82 million, or $0.15 per share. This was lower than $25.46 million, or $0.19 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.13 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 10.6% to $128.40 million. This was down from $143.61 million last year.
