Interactive Intelligence Added to Russell 2000(R) Index

Interactive Intelligence Inc. (NASDAQ:ININ), a global developer of business communications software, was added last month to the Russell 2000® Index, a listing of U.S. stocks from industry-leading small-cap companies. The Russell 2000® Index includes U.S. stocks based on market capitalization and other value attributes, and represents a subset of the companies that make up the entire broad-market Russell 3000® Index. Membership in the Russell Index is good for one year, and results in automatic inclusion in the appropriate growth and value style indexes. "Being listed on the Russell 2000® Index further validates our financial growth, while offering us increased exposure to investors who rely on it for mutual and exchange-traded fund decisions,” said Interactive Intelligence CFO, Stephen R. Head. Last year Interactive Intelligence generated $83.2 million in revenue, a 32 percent increase over 2005 revenues. It was the top-performing 2006 Indiana stock, and the second best-performing 2006 stock on the Nasdaq, as reported by USA Today. Interactive Intelligence first released its unified communications software suite in 1997 to eliminate the cost and complexity introduced by individual point products. The IP-based software helps enterprises and contact centers manage interactions through applications such as interactive voice response, automatic call distribution and unified messaging. Annual reconstitution of Russell indexes involves evaluation of the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, to create the Russell 3000® Index and Russell Microcap® Index. The largest 1,000 companies in the ranking comprise the large-cap Russell 1000® Index and the next 2,000 companies become the widely used small-cap Russell 2000® Index. These investment tools originated from Russell's multi-manager investment business in the early 1980s when the company saw the need for a more objective, market-driven set of benchmarks in order to evaluate outside investment managers. As of May 2007, Russell's indexes had $4 trillion in assets benchmarked to them, and accounted for 52 percent of assets benchmarked by institutional investors.
