Inmarsat, ORBCOMM Announce Strategic Alliance

(RTTNews) - Inmarsat plc (ISAT.L) and ORBCOMM Inc. (ORBC) announced a strategic alliance to collaborate on joint product development and distribution in the satellite Machine-to-Machine or M2M market. Additionally, the companies will explore opportunities for future satellite network expansion and integration, and together make a standard satellite platform and develop hardware for the global M2M industry.

Along with this, both the companies said, they will also look to find potential synergies in multiple areas, which could include leveraging technologies, capital expenditures, product development, satellite operations, and ground infrastructure support for future satellite deployments
