IKON Introduces New ASP Web-to-Print Tool

IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), the world’s largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today introduced IKON WebPrintSM, an ASP web-to-print solution for copy/print center operators. IKON WebPrint is a web-based workflow solution designed to make print order and delivery more efficient and cost effective. Because IKON WebPrint is hosted by IKON and accessed via a web browser, there is no hardware to buy, and no software upgrades needed. IKON WebPrint allows print operators to see order summaries and track jobs, and a production audit trail helps to measure and manage performance. Customers can modify or cancel orders at the click of a button, saving time and potential confusion, and can check a project’s status online, thereby reducing phone calls and interruptions to the print center and further improving productivity. "Whether it’s in trade or retail print, in today’s competitive environment, customers expect fast response and high quality production from print centers,” says Mike Dane, Vice President, Product and Services Marketing, IKON Office Solutions. "IKON WebPrint has all of the features that customers and operators need to submit and deliver printing results quickly and accurately. Because it is web-based, there is no hardware or software to buy, making IKON WebPrint very affordable, and giving print operators a fast ROI.” IKON WebPrint boasts a wealth of powerful features including an online document catalog for frequently produced collateral, such as forms, letterhead and purchase orders. Users can upload data files for variable content printing and can personalize documents based on local requirements, helping to maintain brand consistency. Based on project requirements and pick up or delivery locations, production can be coordinated between hub and spoke locations, and document management capabilities include revision control, maintenance, and shared documents. IKON WebPrint is customizable, and order steps provide the opportunity to promote service options such as page tabs, colored stock, covers and booklets. In addition, users can see real-time images of revisions for options such as stapling and binding. The IKON WebPrint interface is designed for ease of use, and because it is on the web, accessible from anywhere. Users receive automatic order confirmations by email. All jobs are ticketed, and cost estimates are given online, even for reproduction of hard copy documents. Users can also print to their print center from their desktop just as if they were printing to a local print device, all of which helps print centers provide better customer service.
