Identix Continues to Raise the Bar in Live Scan Image Quality with Introduction of New TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series Provides Superior Image Quality, Greater Reliability and More Consistency Over Standard Definition Systems for Maximum AFIS Performance and Lower Total Cost of Ownership
Identix Incorporated (Nasdaq:IDNX), the world's leading multi-biometrics technology company, today announced another breakthrough in superior image quality for its industry leading line of live scan systems with the introduction of its new TouchPrint(TM) Enhanced Definition 3000 Live Scan Series. The Identix(R) TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series provides superior image detail and clarity when compared to standard definition systems, while maintaining the highest standards for reliability and dependability that are synonymous with the Identix brand. Identix expects to being shipping these new systems on January 21, 2005.
Major Victoria Connors of the Denver County Sheriff Department in charge of the city jail, an early user of a TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series Live Scan system, stated, "Having been a user of Identix live scans for ten years, the Denver City Jail has always been impressed with the emphasis that Identix has placed on providing high quality fingerprint images, which is critical to the optimal performance of our AFIS system and our ability to accurately and rapidly identify subjects. We had the privilege to thoroughly test the TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series at our facilities prior to Identix' official release. The TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series exceeds the FBI Appendix F standard by providing 3.5 times the pixel density and 300 percent more contrast, resulting in images that have far more fine ridge detail than dictated by the Appendix F requirements. The TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series employs technologies that take into account subjects with different size fingers and skin colors, sweaty fingers and users rolling fingers at different speeds. The systems produce clear, crisp fingerprint images with virtually no distortion or false minutiae that can be caused by smudging and smearing. TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 3000 Series systems are designed to maintain consistent image quality over time, and with no moving parts in the optics deck and no silicon pads or coatings to change, they provide maximum reliability and minimal downtime, lowering the total overall cost of ownership.
