Hydro One, Avista Receive Antitrust Clearance For Merger - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Hydro One Limited (H.TO) and Avista Corp. (AVA) announced the parties have received antitrust clearance for their proposed merger with the expiration of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. This satisfies one of the closing conditions of the transaction. Hydro One and Avista continue to anticipate closing the transaction in the second half of 2018.

The companies noted that the applications for regulatory approval of the transaction are still pending with utility commissions in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Alaska. Also, an approval must be obtained from the Federal Communications Commission.
