Harbinger Names Omar Asali To Addl. Role Of CEO

(RTTNews) - Harbinger Group Inc (HRG), a diversified holding company, on Monday said it recently appointed Omar Asali as its chief executive officer, in addition to his current role as president.

Asali has been president and a director of the company since 2011. From 2009 to 2011 he was a managing director at Harbinger Capital Partners LLC, responsible for global portfolio strategy and business development.

The company also said it has changed its name to HRG Group Inc with shares continuing to trade under the ticker "HRG." Trading under the new name is expected to commence on March 11.

Harbinger's principal operations are conducted through businesses that offer branded consumer products, among others.
