Google Unveils Fully Functional Self-Driving Car

(RTTNews) - Google has unveiled a fully functioning prototype of their self-driving car. The tech giant had previously rolled out an operable version of the autonomous vehicle but without many key features including headlights and a top camera enclosure.

A YouTube video showed project managers from the Google offering up the first test rides to disabled passengers who are otherwise unable to drive. In a note on the on the video Google calls the new prototype "best holiday gift we could've imagined."

In a post to Google-Plus, managers from the Self-driving Car Project say that each of their working prototypes was created to test a function of the autonomous vehicles. According to Gizmodo, they ultimate goal is to create a car that can take anyone anywhere while navigating traffic, controlling speed on curves, anticipating traffic signs and lights and watching for pedestrians.
