Google Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Google Inc. (GOOG) Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $2.97 billion or $8.75 per share, up from $2.18 billion or $6.53 per share in the same period last year.

Net income from continuing operations totaled $2.96 billion or $8.71 per share, compared to $2.16 billion or $6.48 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $3.64 billion or $10.74 per share. On average, 40 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $10.34 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased to $14.89 billion from $13.30 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $14.79 billion.
