Google Prepping 'Buy Now' Button?

(RTTNews) - Google is reportedly preparing to take a swipe at Amazon by unrolling their own "buy now" button.

Amazon currently allows users to purchase products with one click using a previously linked credit card and Google is apparently planning to do the same by adding their quick-buy option right to the "shopping" interface in a normal Google search.

According to theverge.com they are also considering a new product similar to Amazon Prime that would offer free two-day shipping from some web sellers.

Thus far Google has given no indication that they plan to open their own warehouses and begin stocking products as Amazon does.

The Verge says that its unlikely Google will move on a "buy now" button for this holiday season. Eventually, however, the Buy Now feature could be a valuable move for Google, who represented 11 percent of the total shopping on the web last quarter as compared to 39 percent for Amazon, according to Forrester Research.
