Google Gets More Time To Respond EU Antitrust Charges On Android

(RTTNews) - The European Union has granted Alphabet Inc.'s (GOOGL, GOOG) Google a second extension to respond to accusations that the company has abused its market dominance with its Android mobile operating system.

The European Commission is giving Google two additional weeks—until September 20—to reply to the EU's charges issued against the technology giant in April.

The commission has accused Google of using its Android mobile-operating system to strong-arm phone makers and telecom companies into favoring Google's search engine and browser on their devices.

The EU had initially gave Google until July 27 to respond to the Android charges and then later extended that deadline to September 7 before granting this second extension.
