Globecomm Systems Awarded Two Infrastructure Contracts from Internatio

    HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2005--Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:GCOM), a global provider of end-to-end satellite-based communications solutions, announced today that it has been awarded two infrastructure contracts from international customers valued at approximately $2.1 million.
    The first contract is with a new competitive service provider in a recently deregulated Middle Eastern country. Globecomm will provide turnkey redundant satellite infrastructure enabling the customer to market and sell voice over Internet Protocol and to expand their current Internet Service Provider business over the new satellite connectivity. Once the network is live, the customer will be able to compete directly with the long-standing incumbent monopoly for international voice traffic.
    The second contract is with a direct-to-home video services company in the Middle East. Globecomm will provide satellite infrastructure to expand this customer's current network and consolidate satellite services from various locations to a single facility. Globecomm has worked with this customer for many years and has been responsible for the installation, integration and test of several dozen earth stations at this facility since its inception.
