Giant Interactive Group Q2 Profit Up 20% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Giant Interactive Group, Inc. (GA) Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of 367.6 million Chinese yuan, up 19.6 percent from 307.2 million yuan in the comparable quarter last year. Earnings in dollars totaled $59.9 million.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was 383.5 million yuan, or $62.5 million. On a per-share basis, adjusted earnings were 1.60 yuan, $0.26.

On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.22 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues dropped to 528.22 million yuan from 572.85 million yuan last year. Dollar revenues were $95.83 million. Analysts expected revenues of $95.49 million.

Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company expects revenues to be flat to moderately up over last year.
