Fresh Del Monte Produce Q3 Profit Rises On Higher Sales - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (FDP) reported a 43 percent surge in profit for the third quarter from last year, reflecting volume gains in all its business segments, along with higher selling prices in the company's other fresh produce business segment.

The company said it saw excellent growth in its fresh-cut and avocado businesses during the quarter.

Third-quarter net income attributable to company was $28.5 million or $0.54 per share, up from $19.9 million or $0.35 per share in the prior-year quarter.

Comparable earnings per share for the quarter were $0.57, compared to $0.35 per share last year.

Net sales for the quarter were $936.1 million, up from $884.6 million in the year-ago period, but were negatively impacted by a $27 million exchange rate variance over the prior year period.
