Franklin Templeton Investments Canada Announces Decision Not to Proceed With Proposed Changes to Franklin Bissett Dividend Income Funds
TORONTO, April 27, 2018 /CNW/ - Franklin Templeton Investments Canada today announced its decision not to proceed with its proposed changes to the investment objectives and investment strategies of Franklin Bissett Dividend Income Fund and Franklin Bissett Dividend Income Corporate Class. As a result, special meetings of securityholders to vote on the proposed changes, which were set to take place in Toronto on June 25, 2018, have been cancelled.
The funds will continue to seek to provide high current income by investing primarily in Canadian and American dividend-paying preferred and common stocks and, from time to time, bonds up to a maximum of 25 per cent of total assets.
