Frank Vang-Jensen, New President and Group Chief Executive of Handelsbanken

Frank Vang-Jensen has been appointed as the new President and Group Chief Executive of Handelsbanken. He will take up his new position on 25 March 2015.

Frank Vang-Jensen’s background includes positions as Manager of Handelsbanken’s Copenhagen City branch, Chief Executive of Stadshypotek and Head of Handelsbanken in Denmark. His current position is as Head of Handelsbanken in Sweden.

Pär Boman, currently President and Group Chief Executive, is proposed as the new Chairman of the Bank’s Board.

The major shareholders of Handelsbanken have proposed to the nomination committee of Handelsbanken that Pär Boman be nominated as the new Chairman of the Board of the Bank. Provided that Handelsbanken’s nomination committee propose this at the forthcoming AGM, and that the shareholders at the AGM resolve in accordance with it, Pär Boman will be appointed as Chairman of the Board.

These changes are therefore effective in conjunction with Handelsbanken’s annual general meeting (AGM) on 25 March 2015.

In conjunction with today’s presentation of Handelsbanken’s 2014 financial report, the media will have the opportunity of meeting Frank Vang-Jensen. (For information about the press conference, see the appendix)
