Fitbit Opens EMEA Headquarters In Dublin, Names Des Power Managing Director

(RTTNews) - Fitbit, Inc. (FIT), a connected health and fitness company, announced Wednesday the opening of its Europe, Middle East and Africa or EMEA headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. The company appointed Des Power as new Managing Director.

The new Dublin office will house the strategic business functions for the region, including senior management roles, sales, marketing, operations, finance and customer support staff. The company hopes to grow to approximately 50 people by the end of the year and has room for up to 100 by the end of 2017.

Fitbit said the new office comes at an ideal time to support its rapid growth and expansion in the region, while taking advantage of the highly skilled labour market in Dublin. In the second quarter, the company generated 150% year-over-year revenue growth in the European region.

As part of his new responsibilities, Des Power is tasked with expanding the company's presence across the region.
