FIS To Acquire Brussels-based Clear2Pay For EUR 375 Mln
(RTTNews) - IT services provider Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) Wednesday said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Brussels, Belgium-based Clear2Pay for about 375 million euros.
FIS expects the acquisition will be neutral to adjusted earnings per share in 2014.
Clear2Pay provides payment and payment-related solutions for financial institutions and their clients. The addition of Clear2Pay is expected to bolster FIS' global payments capabilities across all geographies with new payments managed services and payments processing utilities.
The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals and contractual closing conditions, is expected to close during the fourth quarter.
Gary Norcross, president and chief operating officer of FIS said, "This strategic acquisition demonstrates our commitment to delivering the technologies and assets that will enable our clients, especially large and global institutions, to realize a truly modern payments environment..."
Michel Akkermans, chief executive officer and chairman of Clear2Pay stated that the company believes the combination will be uniquely qualified to deliver true payment systems convergence.
Founded in 2001, Clear2Pay is a Brussels-based, global provider of payments technologies and services for secure, timely and streamlined payments processing.
FIS closed Tuesday's regular trading at $57.06 on the NYSE.
