"With more business owners using their mobile devices to do business wherever they are, FirstMerit is excited to offer them the ability to easily and securely manage their money however, whenever and wherever they want," said Julie Tutkovics, executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "We continue to offer ways of giving customers more time to focus on growing their business."
With the FirstMerit business banking mobile app, business customers can view balance information, review detailed account activity, transfer funds between FirstMerit accounts, pay bills, find a FirstMerit branch or ATM and deposit checks into a FirstMerit checking account. With SMS texting, business customers can request balance information, request transaction history on eligible accounts and locate a FirstMerit branch or ATM.
With text alerts, business customers can be notified of low balances (with the ability to transfer between FirstMerit accounts), transfers, schedules, payments and security issues. For more details, visit firstmerit.com/bizmobile.
Mobile Banking Deposits
Both consumer and business customers can now deposit checks directly into eligible checking accounts using their Android or Apple mobile device. Within both consumer and business mobile banking apps, customers simply take a picture of the front and the back of the check. Once the check is deposited through the app, they will receive a notification both on their mobile device and via email. The customer will then be instructed to destroy the check after they confirm that the amount is credited to their account.
Mobile deposits are free for Reality Platinum Checking, Workplace Platinum Checking and CFMA Checking customers. A $0.50 per item deposited fee will be charged to other customers. Through mobile deposits, there is a $2,500 daily deposit limit and a $5,000 monthly limit. Money orders, cashier checks and traveler checks are not accepted.
"On-the-go customers are relying on their mobile devices for more everyday tasks than ever before and now depositing checks is a snap," said Tutkovics. "Giving customers more control over their money is another way FirstMerit is putting their needs first."
