First Of Long Island Q2 Profit Meets Estimate - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - The First of Long Island Corp. (FLIC) posted second-quarter net income of $5.5 million or $0.60 per share, compared to $5.3 million or $0.58 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

The increase in net income for the second quarter of 2014 versus the same quarter last year is largely attributable to an increase in net interest income of $892,000, as partially offset by an increase in salaries of $486,000.

On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.60 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net interest income for the latest second quarter was $16.3 million, compared to $15.5 million in the prior year period, while total other income rose to $1.8 million from $1.7 million last year. Analysts expected revenue of $18.08 million for the quarter.
