FEI Company Q1 Earnings Retreat 18%

(RTTNews) - FEI Company (FEIC) announced a profit for first quarter that decreased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit dropped to $22.90 million, or $0.56 per share. This was down from $28.01 million, or $0.66 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.59 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.5% to $228.64 million. This was up from $220.82 million last year.
