EZCORP Announces Q3, Q4 EPS Outlook

(RTTNews) - EZCORP, Inc. (EZPW) said Monday that it expects earnings of $0.20 to $0.22 per share for the third quarter and $0.40 to $0.42 per share for the fourth quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters currently expect the company to earn $0.26 per share for the third quarter and $0.37 per share for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said it expects the results to be driven by improving trends in its pawn and financial services loan metrics in the U.S. and Mexico, continued strong retail sales in the U.S., and improving overhead expense trends at the consolidated level.

The company estimates that its earnings per share outlook for the fourth quarter may be reduced by $0.02 to $0.03 if it successfully completes the convertible debt offering that was announced simultaneously.

EZCORP said it plans $175 million aggregate principal amount of cash convertible senior notes due 2019 in a private offering. The Company expects to grant an option to the initial purchasers to purchase up to an additional $25 million aggregate principal amount of Convertible Notes.
