Equinix Q3 Profit Rises; But EPS Down

(RTTNews) - Equinix Inc. (EQIX) reported that its third-quarter net income attributable to the company rose to $42.84 million from $42.47 million last year. But, earnings per share declined to $0.79 from $0.83 per share in the previous year.

Revenues were $620.4 million for the third quarter, a 14% increase over the same quarter last year. Recurring revenues, consisting primarily of colocation, interconnection and managed services, were $588.4 million for the third quarter, a 14% increase over the same quarter last year. Non-recurring revenues were $32.0 million for the quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.89 per share and revenues of $615.85 million. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the fourth quarter of 2014, the Company expects revenues to range between $627.0 and $631.0 million, which includes a negative foreign currency impact of approximately $11.0 million compared to the rates used from the Company's prior guidance .

For the full year of 2014, total revenues are expected to range between $2,433.0 and $2,437.0 million, or an as-reported 13% year over year growth rate, which includes a negative foreign currency impact of approximately $15.0 million compared to the rates used from the Company's prior guidance.
