EchoStar And Vivendi's GVT End Talks On Pay-TV JV In Brazil- Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - EchoStar Corp. (SATS), a provider of satellite operations and video delivery solutions, said Friday that EchoStar Technologies LLC and GVT, a subsidiary of French media and telecom group Vivendi (VIVEF.PK, VIV.L), are no longer in discussions to form a joint venture for pay TV services in Brazil.

EchoStar noted that it remains committed to use its expertise in satellite and video technology to deliver a unique pay TV service to Brazil via a high-powered BSS satellite.

In a separate press release, Vivendi confirmed that its subsidiary GVT and EchoStar have ended discussions regarding a pay-TV joint venture in Brazil.

Vivendi said it remains firmly committed to accelerating the deployment of GVT's Pay-TV business. GVT will be pursuing its active growth development in this field by its own.
