EBay Q3 Profit Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - eBay Inc. (EBAY) Wednesday reported third-quarter profit of $689 million or $0.53 per share, up from $597 million or $0.45 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $837 million or $0.64 per share. On average, 38 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.63 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 14 percent to $3.9 billion from $3.4 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $3.90 billion.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the range of $0.67 to $0.69 per share, with adjusted earnings in the order of $0.79 to $0.81 per share.

Revenues are projected in a range of $4.50 billion to $4.60 billion last year. Analysts currently expect the company to report fourth-quarter earnings of $0.83 per share on revenues of $4.64 billion.
