Eaton Corp. Bottom Line Climbs 16% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Eaton Corp. (ETN) announced a profit for its third quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $524 million, or $1.15 per share. This was up from $453 million, or $0.97 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.15 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 4.2% to $4.98 billion. This was down from $5.20 billion last year.
