DSM Names Geraldine Matchett CFO To Succeed Schwalb

(RTTNews) - Royal DSM N.V. (RDSMY.PK), a life sciences and materials sciences company, Monday announced the appointment of Geraldine Matchett as the company's new chief financial officer, succeeding Rolf-Dieter Schwalb who would step down on December 1.

The company's supervisory board will propose to appoint Matchett, 42, as Member of the Managing Board of Directors as of August 1. As from December 1, she will become Chief Financial Officer of Royal DSM, succeeding Schwalb who currently holds that position.

The proposal will be tabled at the Annual General Meeting of shareholders on May 7.

Geraldine Matchett is currently the Global Chief Financial Officer and member of the Operations Council of the SGS Group, a leading company in inspection, verification, testing and certification that has 80,000 employees and annual revenues of about 6 billion Swiss francs.

Matchett has three nationalities - Swiss, British and French. She has previously worked in London for KPMG and in Switzerland for Deloitte as financial auditor and audit manager. She has handled clients in the food, pharma and chemical sectors.

The newly appointed CFO has extensive experience, having interaction with all relevant stakeholders. She has been actively involved in corporate development activities and has managed many areas of the finance function across the world, DSM added. She was recently voted CFO of the year in Switzerland for large companies.

Rolf-Dieter Schwalb has been the DSM CFO for eight years, during which the company completed its transformation into a Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company. He will step down as CFO on December 1, but will remain available for assistance till financial closing of 2014.

The stock fell 0.3 percent to close at 47.51 euros in Amsterdam on Friday.
