DreamWorks Q2 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (DWA) reported a net loss for the second quarter of $38.6 million or $0.45 per share, compared to a net loss of $15.4 million or $0.18 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net loss for the latest quarter was $11.6 million or $0.13 per share.

Revenues for the second quarter rose 39.7% to $170.78 million from $122.28 million a year ago, mainly driven by the performance of the Feature Film, Television Series and Specials and New Media segments.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.26 per share on revenue of $166.70 million for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
