DreamWorks Q1 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (DWA) reported a net loss for the first quarter of $54.8 million or $0.64 per share, compared to a net loss of $42.9 million or $0.51 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net loss for the latest quarter was $21.5 million or $0.25 per share.

Revenues for the first quarter rose 13.1% to $166.53 million from $147.24 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.45 per share on revenue of $164.50 million for the first quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
