Dr Pepper Snapple Invests In Emerging Premium Sports Drink Bodyarmor

(RTTNews) - Flavored beverages maker Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. (DPS) said it has reached an agreement to make an equity investment of $20 million in BA Sports Nutrition, LLC, owner of premium sports drink maker Bodyarmor SuperDrink.

The investment gives Dr Pepper Snapple an 11.7 percent ownership position in BA Sports Nutrition. This partnership marks the second time Dr Pepper Snapple and Mike Repole have teamed up to grow an emerging beverage brand.

In 2013, basketball superstar Kobe Bryant became a significant investor in the company.

Dr Pepper Snapple noted that the terms of the Bodyarmor transaction will not have a material impact on its financial statements.
