Doug Albregts Joins Richardson Electronics' Display Systems Group
Richardson Electronics (NASDAQ: RELL) today announced the recent hiring
of Doug Albregts as VP and General Manager for its Display Systems Group
(DSG). Albregts, formerly VP Sales and Marketing for NEC Display
Solutions of America, is expected to launch DSG’s
long-range plan, which concentrates heavily on display solutions for the
Healthcare, OEM and Digital Signage markets.
"Doug brings a wealth of experience, energy,
passion, and creativity to this position, and he has a proven track
record of growing market share in the display industry,”
said Wendy Diddell, Richardson Electronics EVP, Corporate Development. "He
will be extremely effective at raising the profile of DSG and creating
demand for its display solutions, engineering and support services.”
Albregts joins DSG’s team of experienced
executives in the custom and distributed display industry. As VP and
General Manager, Albregts will be responsible for furthering DSG’s
digital signage and OEM initiatives, while focusing on efficiency gains
through the integration and consolidation of DSG’s
global engineering and product management resources. DSG will continue
to sell both its own proprietary solutions, including the Image Systems
line of medical displays, as well as partnering with companies such as,
but not limited to, NEC and Planar.
Previously, Albregts served as VP, Sales and Marketing for NEC Display
Solutions of Americas where he was responsible for the strategic and
operational leadership of NEC’s sales,
marketing and business development functions, including
advertising, market intelligence, collateral materials, creative
services and corporate communications. Under his direction, the company
developed and implemented a full turn-key solutions division,
re-engineered marketing practices to include integrated components and
ROI benchmarks, expanded the use of alliance marketing and co-branding
activities as a vehicle to create customer loyalty, and developed a more
robust partner friendly infrastructure to better serve customers and
industry partners.
