Donaldson Company Q3 Profit Declines; Issues Q4 Adj. EPS Outlook - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Filtration systems provider Donaldson Company, Inc. (DCI) posted third-quarter net earnings of $46.4 million or $0.33 per share, down from $67.3 million or $0.46 per share in the same quarter, a year ago.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.36 per share, down from $0.46 per share in the prior year period. On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.35 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net sales for the latest third quarter declined to $568.01 million from $624.23 million in the comparable quarter last year, while 9 analysts had a consensus sales estimate of $569.24 million.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of $0.38 to $0.44. Analysts currently expect fourth quarter earnings of $0.43 per share.

For the fiscal year 2015, the company now expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of $1.53 to $1.59 and sales to be about $2.35 billion. Analysts now forecast annual earnings of $1.56 per share on revenues of $2.37 billion.

Earlier, the company expected adjusted earnings per-share in the range of $1.51 to $1.61 and sales of between $2.30 billion and $2.40 billion.
