CO.DON AG - Strategic expansion and further internationalisation

Berlin / Teltow, 13 March 2019 - As a result of the contacts established last year and of talks about the further internationalisation of CO.DON's business, the Executive Board is expanding its strategic planning, also to include the option of a faster entry into the US market.

Ralf Jakobs, CEO of CO.DON AG: "The fact that a strategic US financial group with global operations and great experience in healthcare and biotechnology participated in the issue of convertible bonds and warrants last year means that we are increasingly attracting the attention of major US-based investors and potential business partners. We were given to understand this very clearly at this year's BIO CEO & Investor Conference in New York. We are therefore examining the possible options for further investments and partnerships very carefully."

Also in this context CO.DON is reviewing various financing options. They also include the possibility of raising equity.

CO.DON AG develops, produces and distributes autologous cell therapies for the minimally invasive repair of cartilage defects. The product being marketed is a cell therapy product for the minimally invasive treatment of cartilage damage in the knee joint that uses only the patient's own cartilage cells ("autologous chondrocytes"). CO.DON's method is currently used in over 200 clinics in Germany and more than 14,000 patients have already been treated. In July 2017 CO.DON AG received central EU marketing authorisation for this product from the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
